Usamah M. Al Kurdi is a former Member of the Saudi Arabian Majlis Al-Shura (Parliament), and held a seat on this legislative body from 2000 to 2012. He was a member of the Economic and Energy Affairs Committee and Vice Chairman of the parliament's Financial Committee from 1990 to 2001. Moreover, Mr. Al Kurdi was the Chairman of the Saudi-American Congressional Friendship Committee in this Shura Council (Saudi Parliament).

Mr. Al Kurdi was the Secretary General of the Council of Saudi Chambers of Commerce and Industry from 1990 to 2000.

Currently, he is a very committed, active member of a number of transnational companies and chambers of commerce including the International Chamber of Commerce of Saudi Arabia since 2000.

Al Kurdi holds a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical/Construction Engineering with first class honors from the King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals (Saudi Arabia) and has taken part in an advanced course in International Economic Relations at Harvard University (USA). He is a PhD candidate at Strathclyde University, Glasgow, UK.

He received Medals of Honor from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, China, Republic of China (Taiwan), Poland and Italy.
